Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2024 GMC Terrain

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the CURT trailer hitch receiver on a 2024 GMC Terrain. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Terrain and the great part is it's a hidden cross tube so all the structural part that bolts up to the vehicle is hidden behind the rear fascia leaving only the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening visible. So that's the great part is you get a nice clean look, but all the usability of a hitch and being that it is two inch by two inch, that means you have a ton of options when it comes to accessories. So whether you're getting a bike rack, cargo carrier, or ball mount, you're gonna have plenty to choose from, being that this is kind of the standard size. Now all of them are gonna stay in place with a five eights pin and clip. This is not included with the hitch, but a lot of times your accessories will come with them. more

Well neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Curt trailer hitch receiver on a 2018 GMC Acadia. I think it has a really clean, almost factory, appearance because most of the hitches is going to be hidden behind the bumper, and the main thing we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out. It does stick out, but it's not sticking out past the bumper, so we're not going to have to worry about hitting our leg because if we do hit our leg on this we're already rubbing against the car.Our hitch is a class II, which means it's going to provide us with an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening. This is great for some of those bike racks, smaller cargo carriers or if you're going to do some light duty towing. But regardless of how you're going to be using your hitch, all of the accessories you're going to use are going to mount to the hitch pinhole here on the side. The hitch is going to accept a standard half-inch pin and clip. These are not going to come with the hitch, but you can find them here at etrailer.com, along with some locking devices to keep your accessories secure, in anti-rattle devices to cut down on the annoying rattling sound when we're driving down the road.If you do plan on doing some towing, obviously you're going to need a spot to hook up your safety chains. more

Now it's a class three so it is going to give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening and have the widest variety of options when it comes to accessories. If you want to hit the trail, we can put a bike rack in here, put a couple of bikes and we can take our friends with us. Today, in our 2015 GMC Terrain, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Etrailer.com's class three two-inch trailer hitch receiver. It's mostly hidden behind the bumper, so you really only see the receiver tube and a small section of the cross tube here at the receiver tube. There is a cover located here at the back that does need to be removed, but since it is a nice factory curve, it looks like it was supposed to be that way. This is a class three two inch by two inch receiver, so it's going to be great for all of your towing needs. Whether you're putting a bike rack or cargo carrier in it for your accessories or you're going to pull a trailer, camper, or a boat behind you, this hitch will be able to handle it.It uses a five-eighths inch hitch pinning clip. Now, one doesn't come included with the hitch, but you can pick one up here at Etrailer.com. It features plate-style safety chain loops located on the bottom with a fairly large opening that should accommodate just about every shape, size, and style of safety chain. It features a 350-pound tongue weight, which is the force going down on top of the receiver. With such a high tongue weight, you should have no problem putting on a four-bike rack carrier and loading up four bikes to go to the trail, or it's also enough for you to put a camper on the back and support that as well. more
